 Eco-friendly Ganpati decoration ideas

As we all know Ganesh Chaturthi is a very grand festival that is celebrated in India and some other countries. On this day, devotees celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi on the account of his birthday. The festival is celebrated at home, in areas, schools. People who install 'BAPPA' at home decorate their houses with beautiful flowers and lightings. There are many more unique ideas to decorate Ganpati and the background at home. 

Majority of people in this era go with Eco-friendly Ganpati as the decoration can sometimes be a huge harm to the environment. I will below share some ideas of eco-friendly Ganpati that I have witnessed myself and share a detailed information. 

We can place colorful chowkis, wooden chowkis or a wooden chowki with a fancy shiny cloth. The decoration that never goes out of style is the one with flower decoration. We can make flowers with paper, or bring real colorful flowers and fill the whole back wall with flowers, Flowers used could be- Lilies, paper flowers, yellow and white flowers, colorful mixture of all flowers, peacock features and artificial flowers, Orchids. We can basically make the background with something that we have at home but we don't use it. We can decorate with the whole surroundings of Ganpati Bappa with diyas, candles, lightings or string lights. To bring an even better and colorful and lively look to the setup we can draw Rangoli.

Superhero's Ganpati

The above shown photo is from 2021 where the back of the wall is painted with Superhero's like Captain  America, Hulk, Thanos and a few more. Like I mentioned, we can pain the back of the wall and keep the setup of Ganpati very simple filled with flowers, diyas, vase's and lightings. 

Hanging Flowers behind Ganpati

The hanging flowers Ganpati's place I had been to; had a very simple decoration with hanging artificial flowers, LED lighting, colorful bulbs. To cover Ganpati's head we can use fancy colorful cloth. We can also decorate the aarti thali with flowers or even color. 

Greenery around Ganpati

I have seen one more Ganpati at home where it was decorated with mountains, grass and a rail. We can make the mountain from cardboard and paint it brown, whereas we get artificial grass and stick it on the mountain. The rail can be made from cardboard or can be purchased also.The built up of Ganpati is simple but the decoration of the surrounding make it look attractive.
